• Grange Park Golf Course: Robin - 7+ - singing ; Blackbird - 1+ ; Song Thrush - 4 - singing, inc 2 behind 8th tee ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - song and calls from Lower Kennel Wood ; Goldcrest - 1 - singing, behind Driving Range ; Long-tailed Tit - 4+ - several singles and pairs across woods ; Coal Tit - 1 - singing ; Blue Tit - 5+ - several singing ; Great Tit - 1+ - singing ; Nuthatch - 2+ - at least 1 singing ; Jay - 1+ ; Magpie - 6+ ; Carrion Crow - 3+ ; Chaffinch - 4+ - singing ; Goldfinch - 1+
• Green Moor: Fieldfare - 80+ ; Redwing - C20 ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Stock Dove - 15
• Hallfield: Brambling - c30 - many Bramblings amongst a flock with Chaffinches, Goldfinches and a few Blue Tits ; Chaffinch - c8 ; Goldfinch - c20
• Lockerbrook: Peregrine - 1 - Flew over, towards Alport Castles.
• Longshaw: Raven - 4 - 30 minutes of display from all 4 soaring and tumbling continually croaking ,sometimes 100 feet above the ground
• Loxley Valley: Barn Owl - ? - numerous feathers scattered along edge of track, suggesting recent casualty
• Moss Valley, upper: Sparrowhawk - 1 - After a Woodpigeon which flew away minus a few feathers. ; 319 - 1 - heard
• Norton: Ring-necked Parakeet - 2 - in tree, School Lane ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - over School Lane
• Orgreave Lakes: Goldeneye - 4 ; Redshank - 1 ; Oystercatcher - 3 ; Goosander - 2 ; Reed Bunting - 1 ; Skylark - 30+ ; 320 - 10+ ; Kingfisher - 2
• Parkbank Wood: Green Woodpecker - 1 - calling
• Parkgate; *Banana* plantation: Sparrowhawk - 3 - male left NE @ 0733hrs followed by a second male a couple of minutes later. Second bird displayed before returning to woodland + female tussling with MGs in woodland ; Song Thrush - 1 - singing ; Chaffinch - 4 - inc 3 SW ; Siskin - c20 - small, mobile parties in area ; Magpie - 9 - party sat together in treetop
• Peat Pits: Golden Plover - 3
• Pingle Lane Tip: 319 - 1 ; Bullfinch - 2 ; Song Thrush - 1 - In full song. ; Skylark - 10+ - Lots of chasing and singing over farmland next to approach track. ; Lesser Redpoll - 1 - over old Colliery Railway line.
• Rawmarsh: Red Kite - 1 - drifted west over High St @ 1022hrs (record shot)
• Rawmarsh; Barber*s Avenue: Black-headed Gull - 34 - on playing field ; Common Gull - 1 - adult, joined BH flock on playing field ; Greenfinch - 4 - over together
• Redmires: Oystercatcher - 2 - In fields off Brownhills Lane
• Redmires Res: Canada Goose - 50 - c. ; Mallard - 8 ; 320 - 3 ; Kestrel - 1 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - male ; Curlew - 5 ; Oystercatcher - 1 - on dam wall ; Lapwing - 13 ; Moorhen - 1 - back on Top Res ; Fieldfare - 15 - flew SE ; Lesser Redpoll - 5 - by Top Res car park ; Skylark - 1 - flew NW ; Reed Bunting - 2 - singing males ; Linnet - 1 - flew NW over the conduit - first returning bird

• Rother Valley CP: Whooper Swan - 1 ; 319 - 2 - 2 buzzards soaring above ; Wigeon - 20+ - Group of 20+ of banking feeding
• Rotherham; Don valley: Larus sp - 1000+ - steady stream of gulls moving SW on a broad front along Don valley; majority Black-headed & Herring
• Roundwood Golf course: Chaffinch - 1 - singing ; Coal Tit - 1 - singing
• Silver Wood: Tawny Owl - 1 ; 319 - 1 - Low over tree tops. ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - Calling. ; Jay - 1 ; Treecreeper - 1 - Calling. ; Nuthatch - 6+ - Lots of calling throughout the wood. ; Goldcrest - 2 - Pair. ; Coal Tit - 3+ ; Chaffinch - 4+

• Sugworth Hall: Raven - 2 - "playing" in the updraught by Booth's Folly. ; 319 - 1 - soaring
