  • Aldwarke: Peregrine - 2 - 1 sat on Liberty Speciality Steels melting shop roof 12.15 to 12.45 then pair hunting at 14.00
  • Brown Edge: Tawny Owl - 1 - Birch woodland ; Woodcock - 2
  • Hillsborough Park: Redwing - 1
  • Linacre Res: Tufted Duck - 42 ; Goosander - 9 - 4 males, 5 redheads ; Mandarin - 4 ; Great Crested Grebe - 3 - a pair plus one ; Little Grebe - 1 ; Chiffchaff - 1 - singing
  • Loxley Valley: Grey Heron - 1 - At Mill Dam
  • Millhouses Park: Grey Wagtail - 2 - a pair
  • Northern General Hospital: Ring-necked Parakeet - 2+ - Calling from wood on Barnsley Road junction. ; Redwing - 8
  • Orgreave Lakes: Little Egret - 1
  • Sheffield University: Peregrine - 2 - pair perched by St. Georges' nest platform
  • Thrybergh: Red Kite - 1 - Low over Vales estate @ 14:15 heading NE
  • Thrybergh CP: Scaup - 1 - Still present ; Great Crested Grebe - 10 - Pair in full display
  • Ulley Res: Great Crested Grebe - 14 - 3 pairs doing the head shaking display.
  • Walkley Bank: Song Thrush - 1 - singing from rooftop at 05:30
  • Walkley garden: Blackcap - 1 - Male in Bentley Road garden.
  • Waverley Estate: Ringed Plover - 4 ; Lapwing - 15 - Roosting on open building land between Stevenson and Mitchell Ways.

  • Bassingthorpe Spring: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - rattle call ; Robin - 1 - singing ; Blackbird - 1+ ; Long-tailed Tit - 4+ - 4 together, active around Holly, adj to Munsbrough Lane ; Blue Tit - 1+ - at least 1 singing ; Great Tit - 1 - singing ; Treecreeper - 1 ; Chaffinch - 1 ; Goldfinch - 1+
  • Clough: 319 - 1 - chased from trees by single Carrion Crow, heading SW over Clough Nurseries
  • Ecclesfield Dam: Black-headed Gull - 6 ; Greylag Goose - 1 ; Canada Goose - 2 ; Moorhen - 2 ; Coot - 1 ; 319 - 1 - Over south, mobbed by 2 adult Herring Gulls.
  • Ecclesfield Park: Black-headed Gull - 8 ; Common Gull - 1 - Adult,unusual here. ; Goldcrest - 1 - Singing while feeding along privet hedge surrounding community garden.
  • Graves Park: Redwing - 70+ ; Nuthatch - 2 - 1 seen, 1 heard
  • Hanging Water: Blackbird - 20+ - emerging from roosts in Allotments (mainly males) ; Redwing - 3 - roost with Blackbirds ; Black-headed Gull - 20+ - Heading west plus single Herring Gull ; Ring-necked Parakeet - 1 - heard calling ; Greenfinch - 2 - Singing in allotments

  • Norfolk Heritage Park: Blue Tit - 15+ ; Mistle Thrush - 4+ - 2 singing males, 2 together feeding on ground ; Woodpigeon - 12+ - some singing ; Great Tit - 4+ - 1 singing male ; Blackbird - 6+ - probably 2 pairs ; Robin - 8+ - mostly singing males ; Long-tailed Tit - 1 ; Magpie - 16+ - some possible pairs and one noisy flock of 6 in tree tops, c6 feeding on football field ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 2 - duelling ; Dunnock - 4+ - singing males ; Carrion Crow - 2+ ; 319 - 1 - perched by football field ; Redwing - 13+ ; Greenfinch - 2+ - Wheezing and briefly singing, males ; House Sparrow - 6+ - twittering from hedge by school ; Goldfinch - 4+ - 2 apparently collecting nest material from ground ; Song Thrush - 1+ - singing male ; Nuthatch - 2+ - vocalising ; Stock Dove - 1 - singing male ; Jay - 1 - apparently feeding on ivy berries ; Coal Tit - 2 - tumbling down, squabbling
