Sheffield West: Whooper Swan - c44 - Viewed distantly from Hurlfield 18:10-18:20. Circled Totley/Dore area twice then continued N.

Shillito Wood: Yellowhammer - 6 ; Brambling - 1

Stanage Edge, below: Mistle Thrush - 3 - Foraging on rough grass patches. Disputes between males.

Stanage Plantation: Brambling - 30+ - In beech trees with some Chaffinch. Males and Females. Males moving towards summer plumage.

Thrybergh; School Lane: Kestrel - 1 - on roadside streetlight @ 0640hrs

Walker Edge: Crossbill - 2 - Female and young male feeding in rowan and then on pile of soil.

Wharncliffe Chase (south): Stock Dove - 10 - Much display and territorial behaviour ; Lapwing - 10 - No real sign of breeding behaviour yet ; Meadow Pipit - c20 - 10 north + display ; Redwing - c50 - With Fieldfare ; Fieldfare - c50 ; Goldfinch - 4 ; Skylark - 20+ - Numerous and wide spears with many singing ; Curlew - 4 ; Wheatear - 2 - Males ; Red-legged Partridge - 4 - 2 pairs ; Mallard - c30 - Majority feeding in small groups on surrounding farmland ; Kestrel - Pair ; Starling - 3 ; 319 - 6 - 3 pairs displaying in close proximity with one pair observed copulating
