  • Brincliffe Edge Wood: Siskin - 4+ - Feeding on birch ; Treecreeper - 1 ; Bullfinch - 4 - 2 pairs investigating Samson tree ; Magpie - 2 ; Long-tailed Tit - 5+ - Small group passing through
  • Brinsworth: Blackbird - 1 - Singing off Whitehill Lane, 05:00 ; Robin - 1 - Singing 05:00
  • Brownhills Lane: Stonechat - 1 - On barbed wire fence near junction with Lodge Moor Road ; Stonechat - 1 - male by roadside
  • Canklow: Song Thrush - 1 - in garden scarce visitor
  • Canklow Woods: Sparrowhawk - 2 - pair displaying
  • Dore: Long-tailed Tit - c4
  • Ecclesall Woods: 321 - 1 - over ; Jay - 1 - heard ; Robin - 2 - Appeared to be paired up.
  • Firsby Res: Moorhen - 1 ; Pied Wagtail - 1 - On sluice. ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 17 - Over heading E. ; Herring Gull - 1 - Call only. ; Black-headed Gull - 4 - Down on farmland. ; Common Buzzard - 1 - Call in distance. ; Rook - 3+ - Down amongst sheep with Jackdaws. ; Jackdaw - 10+ ; Jay - 1 ; Mistle Thrush - 3 - Feeding on farmland with other FFs. ; Fieldfare - 6+ ; Redwing - 2+ ; Red-legged Partridge - 7 ; Chaffinch - 5+ - Numerous Males some singing. ; Goldfinch - 3+ ; Meadow Pipit - 1 - Over calling. ; Goldcrest - 1
  • Fitzwilliam Canal, Parkgate: Bullfinch - 1pr ; Long-tailed Tit - c10 ; Redwing - 2
  • Grange Park Golf Course: Grey Wagtail - 1 - @ Lower Kennel Wood. ; Redwing - 6+ ; Bullfinch - 2+ - inc 1 singing ; Yellowhammer - 1 - in hedge @ Walkworth Farm.
  • Green Moor: Yellowhammer - 1 ; Tree Sparrow - 9
  • Low Bradfield: Greylag Goose - c300 - Feeding in fields just to E below Peck Hall, still present up to dark (17:15). ; White-fronted Goose - 1 - 1w albifrons feeding with Greylags (Redmires bird, with asymmetric white feather in RHS of tail).
  • Lowfield; by Asda, Queen*s Rd: Collared Dove - 2 - regular sighting ; Magpie - 1 ; Herring Gull - at least 20 - Adults and juveniles on roof with GBB Gulls ; Great Black-backed Gull - at least 12 - loafing on store roof with Herring Gulls
  • Loxley Chase: Stonechat - 1 - on Myers Lane, seen again about a week later
  • Millhouses: Tawny Owl - 1 - Sheaf Valley Walk. One calling at 03.00. ; Blackbird - 10 - In Springfield Rd garden. Also 12 House Sparrows.
  • Norfolk Park: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - "Kicking" in tree top alongside park grange rd.
  • Norfolk Park, Park Grange estate: Redwing - c30 - feeding on ground with Fieldfares ; Fieldfare - c20 - feeding on ground in leaf litter under maple trees ; House Sparrow - c30 - resident flock in Hawthorn hedge popping out to garden feeders ; Magpie - 2 - near traditional nest site
  • Norfolk Park, Park Grange Estate Garden: Robin - 2 - probably a pair ; Dunnock - 2 ; Woodpigeon - 3 ; Collared Dove - 2 ; Long-tailed Tit - 1 ; Goldfinch - c8 ; Blue Tit - 2 ; Blackbird - 3 - 2m + 1f
  • Orgreave: Stonechat - 4 - 2 pairs. 1 pair feeding in gardens on Rivelin way. ; Goosander - 45 - Roosting at 17.00 ; Goosander - 45 - Roosting at 17.00 ; Goldeneye - 4 - 2 pairs. ; Pink-footed Goose - 2 - Low north at 16.20
  • Orgreave Lakes: CASPIAN GULL - 2 - first winter (back left of photo on water), and second winter left centre on ice. ; Great Black-backed Gull - 215 - Pre roost on ice until 17.00 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 8 ; Herring Gull - 388 ; Common Gull - 1 ; Black-headed Gull - C500 ; Whooper Swan - 12 - 12 swans were swimming
  • Oughtibridge: Redwing - 50 - Feeding in muddy fields adjoining the Cemetery and Boggard Lane
  • Park Hill flats: Pied Wagtail - 2 - Feeding among leaf litter at the side of City Road ; Blue Tit - 4 ; Robin - 1 ; Wren - 1 ; Goldfinch - c4 ; Blackbird - 3
  • Parkgate Canal Basin: Mute Swan - 70 - inc 17 2cy ; Bullfinch - 1 - female ; Black-headed Gull - c30 ; Great Black-backed Gull - 7 - max together; bathing before returning to nearby recycling centre ; Herring Gull - c70 - max together; bathing before returning to nearby recycling centre
  • Parkgate; *Banana* plantation: Siskin - 11 - all N/NE ; Goldcrest - 1 ; Song Thrush - 1 - singing
