  • Burngreave: Starling - 300+ - in 40 min period coming to roost in 12 large conifers, Sorby St. First group of 22 arrived at c15:20.
  • Dog Kennel Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 3 ; Cormorant - 1 - fishing at E end ; 319 - 1 - hunting? Low over W end of lake ; Black-headed Gull - 40+ ; Blackbird - 1
  • Endcliffe Park: Kingfisher - 1 - female on lower pond
  • Firsby Res: Moorhen - 1 ; Mallard - 1 ; Grey Heron - 1 - Fishing ; Tawny Owl - 1 - Loud calling pre dawn. ; 319 - 1 - mobbed by Blackbirds. ; Pheasant - 2 ; Mistle Thrush - 1 ; Redwing - 10+ - Emerging from roost in Hawthorn. ; Song Thrush - 1 ; Goldcrest - 1 - Calling ; Reed Bunting - 2 - Calling ; Bullfinch - 2+ ; Lapwing - 1 - Flew from farmland pre Dawn. ; Skylark - 1 - Over early morning.

  • Northern General Hospital: Ring-necked Parakeet - 80+ - Seen most mornings this week coming out of roost from hospital grounds at junction of Herries Rd and Barnsley Rd, today seeing biggest count and very noisy
  • Redmires Middle Res: Peregrine - 1 - Perched on rocks near water ; 320 - 11
  • Salmon Pastures: 320 - 1
  • Scholes Ground: Woodpigeon - c200 - feeding in autumn sown oil seed rape
  • Stubley Hollow: Lesser Redpoll - 1 - only record this year
  • Wadsley Common garden: Raven - 1 - One over heading west-our first record from the garden.
  • Wire Mill Dam: Goosander - 3 - male and two redheads
