Upper Common, Scholes: Blackbird - 5+ ; Woodpigeon - 20+ ; Skylark - 1+ - one singing with several others calling

Canklow Woods: Lesser Redpoll - 15 - flock of 15 ; Fieldfare - 33 - 33 south at 13:30

Crookes: Fieldfare - c70 - In two ragged flocks, calling, flying S over Duncan Road, several house-heights up.

Middleton Moor: Goldeneye - 1 - male - unusual here ; Shelduck - 1 ; 320 - 101 ; Shoveler - 8 ; Tufted Duck - 11 ; Golden Plover - 11 - one on shoreline plus flock of 10 which circled but failed to land ; Lapwing - 22 ; Stonechat - 2 ; Goosander - 2 - Redheads

Nether Green garden: Blackcap - 1 - Male. In mixed flock

Orgreave Lakes: Common Scoter - 1 - Female type ; Stonechat - 2 ; Lesser Redpoll - c100 - Along river.

Thrybergh CP: Whooper Swan - 1 ; Goldeneye - 2 - redheads ; Osprey - 1 - flew in from north at 09:05 flew low over west arm being mobbed by Lapwings, departed west 09:19

Whirlow Park: Mandarin - 12 - 8 male. 4 female ; Kingfisher - 1 - millpond ; Tawny Owl - 1 - calling close to the Hall.

Wortley: Brambling - 1 ; Raven - 2 ; Fieldfare - c100 ; Redwing - c50 ; Grey Wagtail - 2 - Chasing ; Yellowhammer - 1 ; Goldcrest - 1 - Singing

Endcliffe Park ~ lower pond: Black-headed Gull - 25+ - Only two 1cy seen: very different from this time last year.

Graves Park: Cormorant - 1 - juv on boating lake ; Little Grebe - 4 - 2 adults, 2 juvs

Green Moor: Tree Sparrow - 10+ - At least 10 to feeders

R Don, Newhall Bridge: Shag - 1 - Juvenile sheltering under road bridge, later seen fishing further down river.

Sheffield University: Carrion Crow - c30 - Unusually large flock feeding in St Georges churchyard under the gaze of a single peregrine
