  • Ramsley Res: Cuckoo - 1 - Calling
  • Rawmarsh: Common Buzzard - 1 - W @ 1140hrs, mobbed by Kestrel ; Kestrel - 1pr - one mobbed BZ, then later both up together, soaring & interacting before leaving E ; Greenfinch - 1 - fledged juv
  • Redmires Middle Res: Lesser Redpoll - 3+ - 3-4 In small trees on south side of res.
  • Ringinglow Bog: Red Grouse - 2 - pair desperately mobbing Carrion Crow, trying unsuccessfully to stop it taking chicks/eggs. 3s Herring Gull also in attendance ; Herring Gull - 1 - 3s ; Raven - 1 ; Hobby - 1
  • Rivelin Dams: Wood Warbler - 3 - 2 singing males, and calling bird ; Cuckoo - 1 - calling ; Pied Flycatcher - 2 - singing males ; Spotted Flycatcher - 2 - presumed pair ; Spotted Flycatcher - 1
  • Shepherd Wheel: Mallard - 1+ - Female and 7 small chicks on edge of pond
  • Sothall: House Sparrow - 10+ - first juvs of year being fed in garden
  • Soughley Lane, Redmires: Greylag Goose - 11 - In fields ; Canada Goose - 25 - In fields
  • Walkley garden: Woodpigeon - 1 - Building twig nest in cypress tree.
  • Wharncliffe Wood: Willow Warbler - 124 - Singing ; Blackcap - 35 - Singing ; Spotted Flycatcher - 1 - Singing ; Tree Pipit - 5 ; Chiffchaff - 27
  • Woodhouse Tip: Wheatear - 1 - Flew off north .
  • Wyming Brook: Wood Warbler - 2 - Singing; one by junction of main track, other c.300m west of there ; Wood Warbler - 2 - 2 singing males

  • Barbrook Plantation: Treecreeper - 3+ - adults taking food to 2 separate nest sites ; Song Thrush - 1+ - adult with a fledgling ; Robin - 1 ; Redstart - 2 - 2 singing males ; Blackcap - 1 - singing male ; Pied Flycatcher - 1 - singing male
  • Bassingthorpe Spring: Woodpigeon - 1+ - singing ; Wren - 1+ - singing ; Robin - 1+ - singing ; Blackbird - 2+ - at least 2 singing ; Blackcap - 1 - singing ; Chiffchaff - 1 - singing ; Whitethroat - 1 - singing ; Chaffinch - 1 - singing ; Bullfinch - 1 - calls ; Yellowhammer - 1 - singing from scrub SK413945 ; Skylark - 1 - singing from field NW of Bassingthorpe Farm.
  • Big Moor: Curlew - c 2/ ; Whinchat - 1 ; Wheatear - 1 ; Raven - 1 ; 324 - 24
  • Bowden Housteads Wood: Goldcrest - 2+ - 1pair feeding young in nest in leylandii tree.
  • Burbage Edge: Meadow Pipit - several ; Ring Ouzel - min 3;1m, 2f ; Stonechat - 2;1m,1f - male appeared to be carrying food ; Wheatear - 2; 1m, 1f ; Willow Warbler - 2 - heard ; Pheasant - 1 ; Chaffinch - 1 - heard ; Robin - 1 ; Raven - 1 ; Swift - 3 ; Cuckoo - 1 - heard ; Wren - min 2- heard ; Swallow - 1
  • Canyards: Woodcock - 1 - roding at dusk.

  • High Green: Starling - 4 - Adult with 3 fledged juvs .

  • Limb Valley: House Martin - 2 - Over horse fields ; Swallow - 2 - Over horse fields
  • Malin Bridge: Common Sandpiper - 1 - nocmig single cal at 02:37
  • Morehall tip / R.Don: Dipper - 2 - making regular trips to traditional nest site. ; Grey Wagtail - 4 - pair alarm calling around probable nest, and a fledged juv being fed at separate location. ; Mallard - 5 - female with 4 small ducklings. ; 319 - 1 - making unsuccessful attempt to take mallard duckling off the river.
  • Norwood Allotments: Whitethroat - 1 - singing since 9th May. ; Lesser Whitethroat - 1 - singing since 7th May. ; Ring-necked Parakeet - 2 - feeding on unripe cherries
  • Orgreave Lakes: Common Sandpiper - 1 ; Oystercatcher - 1 ; Skylark - 6 ; Lapwing - 1 ; Redshank - 1 ; Reed Bunting - 2 ; Pied Wagtail - 2 ; Swift - 6+ ; Sand Martin - 1 ; 319 - 1
  • Padley Gorge: Wood Warbler - 2 - Singing
  • Ramsley Moor: Stonechat - 6+ - 2 families quite close together ; Whinchat - 1 - Also quite a few Willow Warblers heard.
