• Orgreave Lakes: Common Sandpiper - 1 ; Redshank - 2 ; Swallow - 20+ ; Sand Martin - 200+ - 17:00 - massive Mayfly hatch creating feeding opportunity for hundreds of birds ; Swift - 2+ ; Yellow Wagtail - 12 ; Wheatear - 5 ; Common Tern - 1 - North at 7.10 ; Pied Wagtail - 6 - Including 2 whites ; Dunlin - 1 ; Swift - 9
• Padley Gorge: Cuckoo - 1 - Flying over moorland fringe being chased by smaller bird ; Jay - 2 ; Tree Pipit - 1 ; Pied Flycatcher - 06-Jul ; Lesser Redpoll - c20
• Pitsmoor: Swift - 1 - Flying high above gardens calling
• R Derwent, Grindleford: Mandarin - 7 ; Swallow - 9 ; Mistle Thrush - 1 ; Dipper - 1 - Carrying food to probable nest site ; Treecreeper - 1 ; Long-tailed Tit - 2 ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Goosander - 1 ; Pied Wagtail - 1 ; Mallard - 10+ - 2 families of 4+ ducklings each with adults

• R Derwent, Leadmill: Grey Wagtail - 4 - 2+ juveniles being fed by adult ; Dipper - 2 ; Mandarin - 3 - 2 in courtship display & then mated
• Ramsley Res: Grasshopper Warbler - 1 - reeling ; Whinchat - 1 ; Stonechat - 3 ; Reed Bunting - 3 ; Linnet - 2 ; Lesser Redpoll - 20+
• Rawmarsh; Rockcliffe Road: Chaffinch - 2 - m & f in garden ; Blackbird - 1pr+ - #NAME? ; Greenfinch - 1 - male in garden
• Redmires Middle Res: Greylag Goose - 6+ - including pair with 6 fresh chicks
• Redmires Res: Mandarin - 1 - male on Bottom Res - still scarce up here (thankfully) ; Greylag Goose - 2 - pair with 6 goslings on Middle Res ; Common Sandpiper - 4 ; Oystercatcher - 2 ; Lapwing - 22 - inc 5 pairs sat on eggs + a pair with 2 young along conduit ; Golden Plover - 3 - displaying along conduit ; Snipe - 2 - displaying ; Curlew - 10 - 5 pairs including territorial dispute between 2 males along conduit ; Sand Martin - 4 - flew SE ; Whitethroat - 2 - singing ; Stonechat - 1 - Female carrying food ; Lesser Redpoll - 1 ; Swallow - 1
• Sheffield Springs Academy: Ring Ouzel - 1 - male relocated from Gleadless Common to SSA school playing fields with Starlings 15:20.
• Silver Wood: Lesser Whitethroat - 1 - singing in dense scrub behind r/way line pond
• Silverwood Lagoon: Reed Warbler - 5 - singing ; Sedge Warbler - 2 - singing ; Garden Warbler - 2 - singing ; Whitethroat - c.11 - singing
• Stanage Edge: Wheatear - 2 - pair at S end, male singing ; Ring Ouzel - 3 - including 2 males in dispute; Magpie in close attendance ; Ring Ouzel - 1 - male around High Neb ; Wheatear - 5 - at High Neb ; Swallow - 12 - flew NE ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 3 - ads flew NW
• Stanage Pole track: Raven - 1 - flew north across track, calling.
• Thrybergh CP: Mute Swan - 62 ; Tufted Duck - 26 ; Great Crested Grebe - 6 ; Common Sandpiper - 1 ; Dunlin - 1 ; Chiffchaff - 4 ; Willow Warbler - 3 ; Reed Warbler - 2 ; Blackcap - 8 ; Whitethroat - 5 ; Lesser Whitethroat - 2 ; Yellow Wagtail - 5+ ; Sand Martin - C300 ; Swallow - 22 ; House Martin - 12 ; Swift - 10 ; 319 - 6 ; Kestrel - 2 ; Sparrowhawk - 1
• Upper Common, Scholes: Carrion Crow - 70+ - feeding, field recently sown, crop just emerging.
• Wadsley: House Martin - 1 - 1 low over Overton Road. 1st one back here.
• Wadsley Common garden: Goldcrest - 1 - Singing. However nest destroyed by magpies-picture.
• West Nab: Golden Plover - c20 ; Wheatear - 2
• Wharncliffe Chase: Brambling - 1 - female ; Snipe - 1 ; Tree Pipit - 7 - singing
