Flew S ; House Martin - 40 - c. Flew SW ; Swallow - 20 - c. gathering on Soughley Lane ; Grey Wagtail - 2 - flew SW ; Goldcrest - 5 - c. with tit flock ; Siskin - 9 - flew W in 3 parties
  • Rocher Head Farm: Linnet - 150+ - post-breeding flock of adults and juveniles
  • Silverwood Lagoon: Barn Owl - 1 - over coarse grassland at Woodlaithes end of pit top at 06.40
  • Sir William Hill: Red Kite - 1 - Flying from radio mast towards Eyam
  • Watergrove: Coot - 2 - on Watergrove Pond
  • White Lee Moor: WHITE-TAILED EAGLE - 1 - IOW release bird flew over at 11:35

Saturday 11th September 2021

  • Bingham Park: Sparrowhawk - 1 - female caught a Jay on the path and flopped off into the trees with it
  • Canklow Woods: Common Buzzard - 5 - in the air together at 17:30
  • Hallam Moors: Raven - 4 - later seen over Stanage Edge ; Kestrel - 4 - ad and 3 juvs ; Meadow Pipit - 90 - c ; Golden Plover - 1 - called briefly
  • Handsworth: Peregrine - 1 - circling over High Hazels park
  • Oaking Clough: Whinchat - 2 - juvs in bracken by supply Res ; Whitethroat - 1 - juv on bracken by supply res ; Willow Warbler - 1 - in bracken by supply res
  • R Don, Effingham St: Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - ad on weir early evening ; Mandarin - 1 - presumed feral eclipse/imm male on weir
  • Ramsley Moor: Chiffchaff - 8 - Including 2 singing ; Willow Warbler - 2

  • Fulwood garden: Kestrel - 1 - over and hunting nearby fields - first of the year here ; 319 - 2 - adult and noisy imm interacting overhead ; Goldcrest - 3 - apparent family party ; Chiffchaff - 1 - giving snatches of song ; Long-tailed Tit - 4+ ; Swallow - 1 - over calling
  • Langsett Res: Great Crested Grebe - 1 juv ; Tufted Duck - 2
  • Mayfield Valley: Green Woodpecker - 1 - In field behind Old May House Farm
