  • Chatsworth Park: Goosander - 4 - Redheads feeding upstream of Paines bridge ; Cormorant - 3 - Feeding downstream from Paines bridge
  • Greystones garden: Blackcap - 4 - 4 males, in observer's garden, seen at the same time. ; Redwing - 1
  • Hind Wheel Dam: Kingfisher - 1 - perching on overhanging branches
  • Orgreave Lakes: Great Black-backed Gull - 24 - At 16.15 when rain stopped play. ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 22 ; Herring Gull - 114 ; Common Gull - 3 ; Black-headed Gull - 331 ; Goldeneye - 2 - 1 pair ; Goosander - 6 ; Kittiwake - 1 - adult still present at least to pre-sunrise (c.07.45hrs) at least at NE corner of large lake

  • Rawmarsh: Sparrowhawk - 01-Feb - male hunting, Bellows Close @ 1020hrs, left W; same or another bird circling over High Street, 1230-1235hrs, left E ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - low over Bellow Road towards St Mary's Church @ 1015hrs
  • Redmires Middle Res: Lapwing - c100 ; Cormorant - 1
  • Richmond: Sparrowhawk - 1 - male took Feral Pigeon off bridge over A57 right next to observer, landing with it on Richmond Road and with the pigeon escaping when a skip truck (thankfully) braked for them
  • Rivelin Valley: Dipper - 1 - feeding in river near footbridge by cafe playground
  • Shepherd Wheel Dam: Kingfisher - 1
  • Thrybergh CP: Whooper Swan - 4 - Dropped in at 11:40 in bad weather ; Scaup - 1 - Male ; Water Rail - 1+ ; Grey Partridge - 12 ; Lapwing - 140 ; Whooper Swan - 4 - Departed south at 13:45 ; Peregrine - 2 - Afternoon ; Fieldfare - c.50 - in field across from southern end of reservoir ; Kingfisher - 1
  • Whiteley Woods: Dipper - 2 - Separate, one singing quietly
  • Wisewood: Goosander - 4 - on Forge Mill Dam by retirement home

  • Orgreave Lakes: Goosander - 23 - Several displaying birds. ; Goldeneye - 3 - 1 female and 2 males. The males were displaying to each other. ; Great Black-backed Gull - 52 - Numbers counted were on the water at dusk. Many other birds dropping in to wash off then leaving. ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 21 ; Herring Gull - 236 ; Common Gull - 1 - 1st winter. ; Black-headed Gull - 180 ; Kittiwake - 1 - Adult still present at NE corner did not join the communal rosst. Still present at 16.45 effectively dark.
