  • Rivelin Valley: Raven - 4 - several sightings in June/July low over Malin Bridge. Family party wandering from further up the valley?
  • RVCP: Egyptian Goose - 5 - no sign of the juvenile,,,thought to have perished
  • Thrybergh CP: Common Tern - 2 - Mid morning. ; Nuthatch - 1 - Calling along cottage drive, possible juv also. ; Common Sandpiper - 1 - Flew from dam wall shore calling. ; Common Sandpiper - 1 ; Common Tern - 2 ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 ; Swift - 12+ ; Reed Warbler - 6
  • Walkley garden: Long-tailed Tit - 8+ - circulating fruit trees for 30 minutes ; Blackbird - 2+ - 2+ adults nesting in privet and mahonia
  • Waverley: Grey Partridge - 2 - Pair flushed from road side
  • Wharncliffe Chase (south): Nightjar - 2 - males churring

Friday 23rd June 2023

  • Aldwarke; Liberty Steels: Peregrine - 02-Mar - one on water tower; a male left strongly W @ 0800hrs; one hunting over melting shop + 1 soaring high over @ 0825hrs before settling on chimneys
  • Bell Ground, Tankersley: Lapwing - 15 - incl 2 relatively new chicks feeding
  • Broomhead Moor: Red Kite - 1
  • Canklow Woods: Lesser Whitethroat - 1 - 1 singing
  • Green Moor: Little Owl - 1
  • Langsett: Swallow - 4 ; Pied Wagtail - 1 ; 319 - 1 - Mobbed by Kestrel
