Middleton Moor: Common Scoter - 3 - dropped in at 07:45 ; Redshank - 1 - heard in the mist and rain not seen ; 320 - 6 ; Shelduck - 5 ; Tufted Duck - 3 ; Little Ringed Plover - 4 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 47 ; Whitethroat - 1 ; Redstart - 1 ; Lesser Redpoll - 1 ; Ringed Plover - 2 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 350 ; Herring Gull - 1 ; Yellow-legged Gull - 7

Orgreave Lakes: Arctic Tern - 2 - Ad and juv south at 08:30. ; Common Sandpiper - 2 ; Tufted Duck - 4 - Adult with 3 day (or so) old ducklings. The 6th brood for this site this year. ; Great Crested Grebe - 4 - Pair with 2 chicks, their second brood this year. ; Garden Warbler - 1 - Fresh juv in plantation on west side of small lake.

Rawmarsh; High Street: Swift - 18 - 11 W/SW @ 1115hrs; 7 W/SW @ 1130hrs

Rockingham: Common Buzzard - 2 - calling & swooping at each other

RVCP: Shoveler - 1 ; Wigeon - 1

Sharrow Cemetery: Sparrowhawk - 1+ - juv(s) calling general cemetery

Thrybergh CP: Mute Swan - 24 ; Canada Goose - 140+ ; Grey Heron - 3 ; Little Egret - 1 ; Goldfinch - 80+ ; Linnet - 5 ; Pied Wagtail - 8 ; Grey Wagtail - 1

Attercliffe: Yellow-legged Gull - 2 - adults, one white headed the other with fine streaking, Warren Street. ; Great Black-backed Gull - 1 - adult, colour ringed ringed as chick Hordaland Norway in 2017 and also seen Manchester in 2019/20. First for several months. ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - c70 - inc new colour ringed 2cy bird, ringed Norway June last year.

Barlow Common: Kestrel - 1 ; Swallow - up to 4 ; Chiffchaff - 1 ; Linnet - up to 4 ; 319 - 1

Beauchief Allotments: Lesser Whitethroat - 1 - showing occasionally in an area of brambles

Birley Edge: Swift - 1 - With c 10 swallows feeding over fields

Carbrook: Peregrine - 1 - juv over Arena Square pub.

Centenary Riverside: Cormorant - 5 - 4 over @ 0730hrs; 1 N, immediately returned S ; Chiffchaff - 5+ ; Mallard - 8 - 2m; 1f; 5 independent juvs, all on river ; Moorhen - 01-Feb - calling from wetland ; Long-tailed Tit - 2+ ; Bullfinch - 2 ; Goldfinch - 7 - 2+5 ; Whitethroat - 1 ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - calling from willows by river

Greystones: Blue Tit - 5 - 4 juvs in observer's garden

Hathersage: Swift - 0 - Apparently left the breeding sites by the swimming pool, where good numbers have been present over recent weeks.

High Bradfield: Woodpigeon - c300 - feeding on flattened cereal crop.

Middleton Moor: Wigeon - 1 ; Tufted Duck - 3 ; Shelduck - 1+ - One adult, 6 juvs ; Canada Goose - 20 ; Greylag Goose - 8 ; Little Ringed Plover - 2 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 650+ - count made at 10.00 ; Yellow-legged Gull - 3

Moss Valley, lower: 319 - 1 ; Collared Dove - 13+ ; Robin - 1 ; Goldfinch - c10 ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Greenfinch - 2

Orgreave Lakes: Common Sandpiper - 1 ; Swift - c70 - drifting N ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - adult

R Derwent, Hathersage: Dipper - 2 ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Song Thrush - 1 ; Treecreeper - 1 ; House Martin - 3

R Don, Effingham St: Dipper - 1 - feeding at side of river, juv looking largely adult except for pale tips to prims and greater coverts, and white central breast.

Ramsley Moor: Willow Warbler - 10 - Mainly juvs, 1 briefly singing ; Blackcap - 1 ; Whitethroat - 1 ; Redstart - 2 ; Stonechat - 2 - Pair, female appeared to be carrying food ; Swift - 35 - Party of 15 high to S W at 10.05, party of 20 through S W at 10.35

Renishaw Gardens: Green Woodpecker - 1 - yaffling’ ; Nuthatch - 1

Renishaw Lake: Gadwall - 36 ; Coot - 67 ; Canada Goose - 128 ; Swallow - 1 ; Cormorant - 1 ; Mallard - 6 ; Great Crested Grebe - 2 ; Little Egret - 3 ; 321 - 5 ; Mute Swan - 7 - 2 adults + 5 cygnets; also a drake Chiloe Wigeon, presumably an escape
