  • Bannerdale: Tawny Owl - 3+ - Two males and at least one female calling at 04:30 after some kind of disturbance set them off.
  • Crowhole: Swallow - 8+ ; House Martin - 2
  • Dog Kennel Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 4 ; Grey Heron - 2 ; Mute Swan - 2 ; Greylag Goose - 30+ ; Mallard - 40+ ; Moorhen - 1+ ; Coot - 7 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 - over adjacent field, being harvested ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Swallow - 10+ ; Long-tailed Tit - 15+ - within mixed tit flock ; Red-legged Partridge - 1 ; Woodpigeon - 1+
  • Graves Park: Little Grebe - 4 - Adult male and female feeding 2 young on Boating Lake.

  • Silverwood Lagoon: Cetti's Warbler - 1 - a few bursts of song either side of 08.00 at northern end
  • Stannington: Whinchat - 1 - on dry stone wall on Moorwood Lane
  • Thrybergh CP: Little Egret - 1 ; Kingfisher - 2 ; Swallow - 20
  • Upper Common, Scholes: Long-tailed Tit - 4+ - along gorse, adj f/p ; Linnet - 2 - moving through gorse and trees ; Kestrel - 1 - into Shepherd's Plantation after 20:00
  • Wadsley Common garden: 324 - 2 - 2 badgers fighting in the garden at half past midnight making an awful row.
