  • Bamford Moor: 337 - 1 - drifted south over Crow Chin at 09:03
  • Blacka Moor: Stonechat - 3 ; Whitethroat - 1
  • Blackwell Monsal Trail: Kestrel - 3 - in flight, at least one juvenile
  • Bole Edge Plantation: Crossbill - 15 - Flying across open area towards Thornseat Lodge.
  • Centenary Riverside: Blackcap - 1 - singing ; Chiffchaff - 9+ ; Reed Warbler - 2prs+ - at least 2 families with fledged, dependent juvs ; Mallard - 8 - on river ; Song Thrush - 1 ; Common Buzzard - 1 - left W/NW ; Goldfinch - 5 - on thistle heads ; Moorhen - 1 - calling ; Dunnock - breeding confirmed - family party ; Wren - breeding confirmed - several family parties ; Grey Heron - 1 - S/SW ; Stock Dove - 1 - singing by river
  • Chee Dale: Mandarin - 5 - 4 Fledged young with adult female on River Wye, 5 mins upstream of Chee Torr tunnels ; Grey Wagtail - 3 - Male, Female and juvenile ; Grey Wagtail - 5+ - Male and Female feeding 3 or more very recently fledged young on weir.
  • Fitzwilliam Canal, Parkgate: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 2 - at least 1 fledged, independent juv ; Wren - breeding confirmed - family party ; Blackcap - 2+ - 1 singing ; Chiffchaff - 6+ - 1 singing ; Moorhen - 1 - adult ; Song Thrush - 1 - singing ; Long-tailed Tit - 15-20 - post-breeding flock ; Bullfinch - 1 - calling ; Stock Dove - 1 - singing ; Treecreeper - 1 - calling ; Mallard - 2
  • Greystones: Swift - 4 - Over observer's garden ; Song Thrush - 1 - OG ; Swift - 12
  • Holling Dale: Merlin - 1 - Flying over moorland, apparently eating something from its feet, near New Cross, medium height.
  • Howden Moors: 337 - 1 - back at it's regular roost site this is evening in Abbey Brook
  • Hundall: Kestrel - 1
  • Ladybower: 337 - 1 - on rock SW of Cutthroat Bridge just above Ladybower Wood at 10:30 until flushed by photographers at c11:00. Headed off WSW until lost very distant beyond Win Hill, over in Hope Valley
  • Mam Tor: 337 - 1 - heading north high over Rushup Edge/Mam Tor at 11:45

  • Parkgate Canal Basin: Stock Dove - 1 ; Mallard - 26 ; Mute Swan - 5 ; Sand Martin - 1 - over water ; Whitethroat - 1 - singing ; Goldfinch - c10 - inc juvs ; Blackcap - 1 - male ; Grey Heron - 1 - circled over & left SW/S ; Chiffchaff - 2 - 1 singing ; Lesser Whitethroat - 1

  • Redmires Res: Canada Goose - 8 ; Greylag Goose - 12 ; Tufted Duck - 2 ; Lapwing - 25 - c. on Bottom Res ; Curlew - 18 - roosted on Bottom Res ; Common Sandpiper - 1 - on Bottom Res in evening - newly arrived ; Little Ringed Plover - 1 - Juv on Bottom Res ; Ringed Plover - 2 - Ads on Bottom Res ; Green Sandpiper - 1 - flew NNW calling at 07:54 hrs ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - c. 90 - on Bottom Res ; Yellow-legged Gull - 4 - 3 ads & 1CY on Bottom Res ; Black-headed Gull - 180 - c. 90 SW in am with c.90 roosting in pm ; Swift - 6 - fed over Bottom Res before flying W ; Hobby - 1 - over Roper Hill ; Peregrine - 1 - Seen distantly from conduit ; Kestrel - 4 ; 337 - 1 - Juv seen from Redmires over Moscar Moor ; Raven - 2 - Distantly mobbing a Lammergeier - as you do.... ; Crossbill - 2 - Flew W
  • Rivelin Filters: Kingfisher - 1 - flew out into A57 in front of car, u-turned and headed back toards pool.
  • Rivelin Valley: Swift - 21 - Screaming party low over Roscoe Bank in the evening
  • Rotherham; Thorn Hill: Lesser Black-backed Gull - 3 - near-adults loafing on roof
  • Roundwood Golf course: Coal Tit - 1 - calling ; Sand Martin - c10 - feeding over ; Kestrel - 1 - over ; Tern sp (Common/Arctic) - 1 - N/NE @ 1040hrs (probably Common)
  • Unstone: Peregrine - 1 ; Greenfinch - 1 - heard ; Goldfinch - 1 ; 324 - 1 - Comma butterfly
  • Wadsley: Swift - 8 - at 21:10 - probably more
  • West Handley: Goldfinch - 3 - 1 adult, plus 2 juveniles ; Yellowhammer - 1 - heard ; Skylark - 1
  • White Edge: Stonechat - 2 - pair inc female carrying food in suitable breeding habitat
