  • Brincliffe Edge Wood: Redwing - 6+
  • Chatsworth House: Pied Wagtail - 1 - in busy area between House & carpark
  • Chatsworth Park: Raven - 1 - high over Hunting Tower ; 321 - 1 - over near Emperor Lake ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - in fields at top of Park
  • Crookes Valley Park: Cormorant - 6 - High in a tree, flying and on the water ; Goosander - 1 - red-head foraging amongst emergent vegetation in southernmost corner of dam.
  • Darnall: Redwing - 17 - On bushes at Wilfred Rd
  • Foxhill: 319 - 1 - Circling over Shaw Hill Farm at 12:00
  • Harthill Res: Grey Plover - 6 - Six this morning
  • Morehall tip / R.Don: Goosander - 4 - 3m , 1f fishing on river. ; 321 - 1 ; Dipper - 1 ; Long-tailed Tit - 18 - in riverside trees. ; Nuthatch - 2 ; 319 - 2 - feeding on dead woodpigeon . ; Woodcock - 1 - disturbed from willow scrub. ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - hunting along river corridor.
  • Norton Lees garden: Greenfinch - 1 - First at feeder for quite a long time
  • R Don, Effingham St: Kingfisher - 2 ; Goosander - 6 - 2 males ; Herring Gull - c30 - No sign of any of the three Caspian Gulls. ; Goosander - 7 - 3 male, 4 redheads late afternoon ; Greylag Goose - 2 - 2 of the long-staying farmyard types (both white, one with brown on head) remaining ; Mute Swan - 2 - pair
  • R Don, Norfolk Bridge: CASPIAN GULL - 1 - 1st. w. on roof of recycling plant, Warren Street at15.15 hours. Large (presumably male) unringed individual with no obvious grey patch in right wing ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - possible 1st. w. at Warren Street. Plumage and structure looked good but not seen well enough.
  • Rawmarsh; Rockcliffe Road: Common Buzzard - 2 - drifted low to S @ 1155hrs ; Dunnock - 1 - one in full song in garden in spring-like conditions
  • Roe Wood: Ring-necked Parakeet - 1 - Calling at 13:05

  • Ecclesfield: Tawny Owl - 1 - Calling from garden, Cross Hill, at 20:48.
  • Endcliffe Park: Mandarin - 6 - 5m+1f on upper lake
  • Forge Dam: Grey Wagtail - 1 - Confiding individual in around the tables at cafe
  • Fulwood Lane: Brambling - 3 - 1M + 2F with Chaffinches feeding under large beech trees in field adjacent road
  • Hangram Lane: Lapwing - 20 - Small flock feeding in field adjacent road ; Redwing - 10 - Feeding in field adjacent road alongside Lapwing
  • Kilnhurst Hall Wood: Jackdaw - c50 - flock, wheeling over for several minutes before drifting W
  • Porter Valley: Kingfisher - 1 - Fishing on river by Shepherd Wheel at 13:35
