Hazelbarrow Farm: Robin - 4 ; Pied Wagtail - 2 - feeding in arable field and around muck heap ; Blue Tit - 4 ; Great Tit - 2 ; Carrion Crow - 2 ; Magpie - 2 ; Long-tailed Tit - 2 ; Mistle Thrush - 1 ; Woodpigeon - 6 ; Redwing - c50 - Singing subsong from in tops of large trees in near farm yard; perhaps preparing to roost for the night.

Loxley Valley: 320 - 1 - male on Olive House pond

Middleton Moor: Pintail - 1 - Drake present until 9/3/2021

Millhouses garden: 319 - 3 - circling and calling overhead ; Blackcap - 1 - male ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - female ; Nuthatch - 1 - infrequent visitor

Millhouses Lane garden: Common Buzzard - 3 - circling over the Whirlowdale Road/Pingle Road area to the south

Moss Road Totley: Green Woodpecker - 1 - Yaffling from Oak branch ; Willow Tit - 2 - One feeding one singing nearby ; Lesser Redpoll - 1 - Feeding male in glorious plumage ; Greenfinch - 16+ - Feeding and singing ; Kestrel - 1 - Male perched in treetop ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - 1 male drumming then seen feeding on fat balls ; Yellowhammer - 1 - 1 male singing

Moss Valley: Woodpigeon - c70 - mostly in flocks in tree tops ; Blue Tit - 26+ ; Robin - 15+ ; Wren - 1 ; Jay - 1 ; Dunnock - 1 ; Song Thrush - 2 - singing males ; Carrion Crow - 1 ; Great Tit - 6+ ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 4 ; Chaffinch - 1 - singing male ; Blackbird - 1 - male ; Long-tailed Tit - 9 ; 319 - 1 - juv soaring overhead

Norfolk Park garden: Feral Pigeon - 2 - a pair taking bird seed from feeder. The first time I've seen this species in the garden for three years.

Silverwood Lagoon: Ringed Plover - 1 - on northern shoreline at 08.00

Upper Common, Scholes: Skylark - 1+ - singing ; Linnet - 100+ - some drinking and bathing in ruts left by tractor,along with at least 10 Chaffinch.

Wentworth Estate: Red Kite - 3 - 3 birds together over Wentworth.

Wharncliffe Chase (south): Song Thrush - 7 - Concentrated in a relatively small area, 2 singing. ; Blackbird - c10 - Again feeding together in a small area. ; Fieldfare - 16 ; Redwing - 3 ; Jay - 5 ; Goldfinch - 3 ; Mistle Thrush - 3 ; Meadow Pipit - 5+ ; Skylark - c10 - 2 singing, more subdued, some feeding quietly. ; Common Gull - 1 - Slowly north ; Kestrel - 1 ; Crossbill - 1+ - Heard only ; Red-legged Partridge - 4 ; Goldcrest - 2 - 1 singing ; 319 - 3 ; Lapwing - 5 ; Snipe - 4 ; Curlew - 1 - Calling, first one back this year. ; Linnet - 1 ; Raven - 1

Wharncliffe Heath NR: Woodcock - 1 - Flushed from bracken patch near heath ; Woodpigeon - 1000+ - Large flock below wharncliffe crags

Agden Res: Whooper Swan - 30 - 24 ads, 6 juvs dropped in at 15:30, still present 17:15. ; Cormorant - 1 - white headed adult ; 320 - 2 - pair ; Mandarin - 22 - lots of display and calling. ; Oystercatcher - 1

Broomhead Res: Great Crested Grebe - 2 ; Shelduck - 1 - female ; Goosander - 1 - redhead

Centenary Riverside: Goldcrest - 1 - Sociable bird feeding near me , entrance 11.00 ; Redwing - 35-40 ; Goldfinch - 15-20 - Some feeding on Thistle heads. ; Goosander - 4 - Pairs on river ; Cormorant - 2 - Spooked from river. ; Chiffchaff - 2 - feeding together on the buddleia to the left of the entrance bridge
