  • Redmires Res: Golden Plover - 28 - over Middle Res ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 25 - c. ; Black-headed Gull - 35 - c. ; Mistle Thrush - 20 - c. ; Meadow Pipit - 158 - flew S in 2 hrs ; Linnet - 61 - flew S in 2 hrs ; Lesser Redpoll - 24 - flew SW ; Pied Wagtail - 6 - flew SW in 2 hrs ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Chiffchaff - 3 ; Stock Dove - 2 - flew W ; Black Redstart - 1 - arrived from NE at 08:40 - dropped onto rocks by Middle Res car park. Seen briefly 3 times before promptly disappearing. Ad male judging by white wing patch - an overdue first site record ; Willow Warbler - 1 - flushed out of raspberry bed by Bottom Res - my latest here
  • Spout House Hill: Swallow - 12 - juveniles heading west. ; Meadow Pipit - c20 - around site. ; Pheasant - 2 ; Grey Partridge - 6 - feeding in rough pasture.

  • Arbourthorne: Mandarin - 1 - male on pond with Mallards at 18:00. ; Mallard - 15
  • Barlow Common: Wheatear - 3 - three together in a field ; Skylark - 8+ ; Kestrel - 1 ; Meadow Pipit - 7 ; Linnet - 3 ; Goldfinch - 5 ; Greenfinch - 1 ; Collared Dove - 9 - including eight in one small tree ; Pied Wagtail - 1
  • Bingham Park: Ring-necked Parakeet - 9 - noisy flock
  • Canklow Woods: Chiffchaff - 1
  • Crookesmoor: Peregrine - 1 - soaring then moving off East towards city centre
  • Hathersage - North Lees: Kestrel - 1 ; Jay - 2

  • Norfolk Heritage Park: Grey Wagtail - 03-Apr - Family party on the stream in the Jervis Lum part of the park.
  • Norfolk Park: 319 - 2 - hunting over amenity grassland. May be waiting for opportunities to take the grey squirrels that are themselves eating the Horse Chestnut conkers ; Kestrel - 2 - flew over Park Grange Rd into a tree and they briefly grappled talons. After several seconds noisy vocalising they flew out of the tree, followed by 2-4 Jackdaws.
  • Redmires Bottom Res: Meadow Pipit - 4 ; Kestrel - 1 - Hunting on moorland edge ; 319 - 1 - Being mobbed by covids
  • Roper Hill: Starling - 150 - Large flock in fields by roadside

  • Orgreave Lakes: Grey Plover - 1 - a juv until 07:45 when it disappeared ; Grey Plover - 1 - Juv on west shore
  • Ravenfield Church: Kestrel - 1 - On spire early morning. ; Skylark - 6 - Along path over field to Arbour Lane.
  • Sothall: Golden Plover - 1 - nocmig sound recorded over garden
