  • Midhope Res: Linnet - 100+ - Majority species in a mixed finch group. ; Greenfinch - 3+ - Probably more ; Chaffinch - 05-Oct ; Starling - c66 - c60 + 6 west ; Little Grebe - 1 ; 319 - 2 ; Meadow Pipit - 2 ; Pink-footed Goose - c150 - Calling as they flew east at 14:30, briefly seen in fog/cloud break. ; Jay - 4 ; Tufted Duck - 8 ; 320 - 5 ; Mallard - 45 ; Goldfinch - Oct-15 - Within finch group ; Bullfinch - 1+ ; Siskin - 1+
  • Norton Lees garden: Woodpigeon - 16 - 14 of these eating berries on big holly at back of observer’s garden

  • Thrybergh CP: Goldeneye - 4 - 2 pairs ; Tufted Duck - 28 ; Gadwall - 4 ; Water Rail - 3 ; Peregrine - 1 - One south 10:10 ; Lapwing - C80 ; Barn Owl - 1 - Reported early morning on Dam ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Water Rail - 2 - 1 seen, 1 calling. ; Goosander - 3 - Another red head dropped in. ; Snipe - 2 - Over going Eastwards. ; Sparrowhawk - 2 - Two together Doncaster end. ; Robin - 20+ - Including 6 feeding fairly amicably together at Thrybergh Lane bridge feeding station.

  • Aldwarke; Waddington Way: Fieldfare - 4 - in Hawthorns ; Song Thrush - 1 ; Grey Wagtail - 1 - over
  • Apperknowle: Grey Wagtail - 1 - flew up from small stream down side of field ; 319 - 1 - On field wall
  • Birley Hay: 321 - 1
  • Broomhall: Tawny Owl - 1 - heard only at 18:10
  • Canklow Woods: Redwing - 50
  • Don Canal; Rotherham Cut: Mute Swan - 1 - Eastwood Lock ; Redwing - 12+ - feeding in Hawthorns ; Pied Wagtail - 1 - over ; Black-headed Gull - c30 - east
  • Endcliffe Park: Kingfisher - 1 ; Mandarin - 2 ; Moorhen - 5 ; Mallard - 30 ; Goldcrest - 2
