Wentworth Park: 319 - 1 - over field adj wood at Deer Shed

Wentworth Park,E of Roman Ridge: Stock Dove - 2 - 1 singing ; Tawny Owl - 1 - calls at 11:25

Whirlow Hall Farm: Willow Warbler - 1 - Singing near Barn Centre ; Willow Warbler - 1+ - Heard singing, and then heard singing on 21 dates until the last one, 26th June. Presumed nest was in small impenetrable thicket near Barn Centre, close to a well-used public footpath. Saw an adult from time to time, but did not see any juvs. Not really possible to find a suitable sitting and watching spot. Never heard this species in this area before.

Curbar Edge: Ring Ouzel - 1 - Male singing from top of small tree below the edge.

Firsby Res: Mallard - 2 - Pair in flight. ; Mute Swan - 2 - Resident pair. ; Kestrel - 1 - Hunting. ; Whitethroat - 1 - Calling from Hedgerow, first of the year. ; Blackcap - 2 - Singing males. ; Chiffchaff - 3 ; Willow Warbler - 2 ; Reed Bunting - 1 ; Goldfinch - 10+ ; Linnet - 10+ - Lots of activity. ; Blue Tit - 2+ - Feeding chicks in nest at base of tree. ; Robin - 1 ; Carrion Crow - 1 - Sat on nest very low in Broome bush. ; Swallow - 4 - Low over crops. ; Yellowhammer - 3 - A pair and a singing Male.
